Un fourgon blindé est pris d'assaut, les deux chauffeurs tués ou blessés et le milliard qu'il trasnportait volé. La voiture des deux voleurs explose et elle efface toute trace. Dandier est chargé de la difficile enquête. Il est ténace, têtu et ses soupçons se portent sur la célèbre journaliste, Sophie Olivier, criminologue. Il commence alors à la persécuter.
